Learn how to use OneClick Digital
Have you tried downloading audio books yet from FVRL's OneClick Digital service? Perhaps you've tried it and have questions or problems -- even after taking the 20-minute OneClick Digital tutorial?
Whatever your experience, you're invited to participate in a free, 45-minute training webinar offered by OneClick Digital that will introduce you to its many features:
OneClick Digital Webinar Tuesday, September 25, 2012
6-7 pm Pacific Daylight Time
https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/961785894
This program will include a complete tour of OneClick Digital and will take you, step-by-step, through creating an account, installing the OneClickdigital Media Manager, searching for content, managing checkouts, and downloading and transfering audiobooks to listening devices.
If you miss the Sept. 25 session, don't worry - there will be additional training webinars scheduled throughout the year.
If you have any questions or problems with this audio book service, don't hesitate to send a message to library staff at contact@fvrl.org or call 360-906-5106 or any FVRL location. Or contact oneclickdigital@recordedbooks.com.

Getting to know you
I'm in my eighth week now as FVRL executive director and enjoying a steep learning curve on how this large and complex district works.
I'm very excited about the innovative Library Express facilities we're setting up at Yale, Green Mountain and Yacolt. And it was gratifying to have patrons participate in the "Re-Imagining" session on August 29 with the architects for The Mall Library Connection, which will open at Westfield Vancouver shopping center in March 2013 -- see more about this project below.
I'd love to hear from you about what other projects you think I should focus on in my first year here. Please send me a message with "Nancy Tessman" in the subject line to contact@fvrl.org. Thanks!

Coming in March 2013
Vancouver Mall Commmunity Library will be CLOSED FOR REMODELING and conversion to The Mall Library Connection beginning Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.
Thirty-five patrons and staff members gathered Aug. 29 at Westfield Vancouver for a public input session on The Mall Library Connection, a new kind of FVRL library that will open in March 2013 to replace Vancouver Mall Community Library.
Architect Kevin Kane of SHKS Architects led the group through information about the project and a discussion of "What should happen in this library?" and "What resources should this library offer?" SHKS will use the information gathered to draft three design options that will be reviewed by focus groups and staff prior to final design development.
The current Vancouver Mall library will be closed beginning Monday, Dec. 24 for remodeling.
If you have any questions about this project or would like to offer input, please call 360-906-5106, send an email to contact@fvrl.org, or fill out a comment form at any FVRL location.
