Shaping a future FVRL
We have an exciting event coming up on October 20 at 2 pm -- the grand opening celebration for Yacolt Library Express. This little library is a first for the district in several ways, and its opening marks an innovative approach to providing library service in rural areas. It's also a great example of a community coming together to provide a home for library services. Please join us for this celebration.
Another event I'd like to encourage you to attend is the Library Foundation's Authors & Illustrators Dinner in Vancouver on November 14, featuring popular author Nicholas Sparks. This is the Foundation's biggest fundraiser of the year, so you can feel good that your support for this event means support for library programs. I hope to see you there!
As always, I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns -- I'd love to hear from you. Please send me a message with "Nancy Tessman" in the subject line to contact@fvrl.org. Thanks!
Nancy Tessman FVRL Executive Director

Coming in March 2013
Please note that Vancouver Mall Community Library will be CLOSED FOR REMODELING and conversion to The Mall Library Connection beginning Monday, December 24, 2012.
SHKS architects and library staff have been hard at work finalizing plans for a new kind of library, The Mall Library Connection, that will open in March 2013 in place of Vancouver Mall Community Library.
The remodeling plans reflect input received from the public -- including ideas offered at an Aug. 29 forum held at Westfield Vancouver. As soon as they're available, you'll be able to view the plans at the library or on the library's home page.
If you have any questions about this project or would like to offer input, please call 360-906-5106, send an email to contact@fvrl.org, or fill out a comment form at any FVRL location.
