Fort Vancouver Regional Library District Gift Acceptance Policy Fort Vancouver Regional Library District (FVRL) recognizes the value of gifts given for the benefit of FVRL and the supportive role played by the FVRL Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts intended to enhance library programs and support library initiatives will generally be directed to the FVRL Foundation. FVRL encourages donors to direct the following types of gifts to the FVRL Foundation:
Occasionally, a donor may request that his or her donation go directly to FVRL. While encouraging donors to direct their gifts to the FVRL Foundation, FVRL retains the right to accept gifts, including cash. The FVRL Executive Director or designee(s) will determine the acceptability of such gifts. When artwork is offered to the FVRL Foundation or to FVRL and there is an expectation to display or store it, an art review process involving both the FVRL Foundation Director or designee, and the FVRL Executive Director or designee, must be conducted prior to accepting the gift. The art review process is not needed if the artwork is intended to be sold or auctioned by the FVRL Foundation. Donated artwork will be owned by the FVRL Foundation. Use of artwork, such as length and location of display, shall be determined by FVRL. Both FVRL and the FVRL Foundation reserve the right to reject the offer of a gift when either organization determines that it is not in its best interest to accept it. The Executive Director is responsible for the administration of this policy and for establishing administrative procedures for its implementation.
