A Family Library in "Old Town"

Located in the heart of Old Town Ridgefield, we are an integral part of our community. Readers enjoy books and magazines on a wide range of topics for all reading levels. Books on CD are popular with commuters. We also offer non-fiction DVDs. Ask about our Playaways -- these are MP3 players with books already recorded on them (just add your headphones or speakers).

Our public access computers are available for use free of charge. You can research information or job hunt on the Internet, or type your resume or report. Free wireless internet access is available. We also have an interactive computer station for children.

Try our online reference databases that offer full text magazine and newspaper articles, encyclopedias, auto manuals, standardized test preparation, language learning and more.

We offer programs and events that appeal to a variety of interests and age levels. Regular events include teen/tween book discussions, storytimes, teen council and our stitchery group.

Ridgefield is a close-knit community. Everyone in town gets involved in annual community-wide events and the library is no exception. From Independence Day to Heritage Day to the annual Hometown Celebration in December, these festivities often draw upwards of 10,000 people from other areas. We always have a good time with the many activities scattered about town, including parades, street dances, salmon bakes, chalk drawing, fireworks, musical entertainment, holiday bazaars, tree lighting ceremonies and much more.

Drop in to visit with our friendly, helpful staff and learn more about what our library has to offer you.
