Black History Month
Black History Month, observed every February, recognizes the history, rich culture, achievements, and contributions of Black individuals and communities in the United States.

How does FVRLibraries celebrate this month?
Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries celebrates Black History Month each February. First recognized nationally in 1976, this observance highlights the achievements, creativity, and cultural traditions of Black Americans throughout history.
Through books, films, and programs for all ages, FVRLibraries invites everyone to celebrate heritage, learn about influential leaders, and connect with the rich legacy of Black communities.

Help Us Grow & Improve
We are always looking for ways to expand our collections and programming so that they are interesting and inclusive to the communities we serve. To this end, our community is encouraged to submit original programming and resource selections for us to consider.
Have ideas from programming? We’d love to hear suggestions for cultural events, educational presentations, book discussions, and community celebrations.
Know of great resources we should add? Help us discover books, films, music, or other materials that would enrich our collections.
