Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries (FVRL) is seeking a positive and community-minded branch manager to provide leadership at our Vancouver Mall Library.
The Vancouver Mall Library location is small but mighty. Although it holds one of the smallest footprints of our 15 branches, around 3,500 square feet, it has the fifth highest circulation. This library is truly an asset to our district as it creates a connection with community members while they are shopping at the mall and is often the first library that patrons new to the area visit. It has one of the highest rates for new library card registrations and the highest percentage of internet use in the district. To be successful in this position, candidates must share our values of community success, district-wide collaboration, exceptional customer service, innovation, and intellectual freedom. Branch management, program and staff development, and the ability to build community partnerships are key to this role.
The branch manager is involved in the day-to-day operations of the branch and serves as the face of the library district in northeast Clark County, coordinating outreach activities. This position leads and develops a team of eight (6.4 FTE), along with the senior branch supervisor. The branch manager works with library staff at all levels and at different departments throughout the district and is expected to work closely with other managers—especially colleagues in Clark County—in program sharing, planning, and strategy building. We are looking for candidates who have the ability to expand outreach to mall patrons, develop partnerships with area agencies, and maintain strong relationships with the mall management, Friends of the Library, and the local school district. Please see our Branch Manager Vancouver Mall Library brochure and position description to find out more about this position, its requirements, the Vancouver community, and FVRL.
This opening is due to the retirement of the current branch manager, who has been with the library district for 20 years.
The compensation for this position begins at $58,225.44 per year with an excellent benefits package including health insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short term and long term disability benefits, Washington State PERS retirement, and paid time off.
