KOOBDOOGA: Community Reads 2018

"Danger Close" by Amber SmithIt's "a good book" spelled backward—and our annual Community Reads Program! The Friends of White Salmon Valley Community Library are sponsoring a series of events in October. The goal is to bring the community together to celebrate a good book.

This year's featured title is Danger Close, an inspiring and riveting first-ever memoir of active combat by a female helicopter pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan, written by White Salmon native Amber Smith.

When is it?

Events kick-off Saturday, September 29, 2018 and continue each Saturday afternoon throughout the month of October. They include: an exhibition of artwork inspired by the featured book; an artists’ reception; a book discussion; and more.

How to participate

Come to the library and pick up a free copy of the featured title to read and share beginning in September. Bring the book back or pass it along to a friend, so the whole community has the opportunity to share the story. Then... choose events that appeal to you, and join in!

We're still finalizing the event schedule for KOOBDOOGA. Please check back.
