KOOBDOOGA: Community Reads 2018

"Danger Close" by Amber SmithIt's "a good book" spelled backward—and our annual Community Reads program! The Friends of White Salmon Valley Community Library are sponsoring a series of events in October. The goal is to bring the community together to celebrate a good book.

This year's featured title is Danger Close, an inspiring and riveting first-ever memoir of active combat by a female helicopter pilot in Iraq and Afghanistan, written by White Salmon native Amber Smith.

When is it?

Events kick-off Saturday, September 29, 2018 and continue each Saturday afternoon throughout the month of October. They include: an exhibition of artwork inspired by the featured book; an artists’ reception; a book discussion; and more.

How to participate

Come to the library and pick up a free copy of the featured title to read and share beginning in September. Bring the book back or pass it along to a friend, so the whole community has the opportunity to share the story. Then... choose events that appeal to you, and join in!

There are currently no KOOBDOOGA events in the calendar.
