Although FVRLibraries don’t currently record the award names in individual catalog records, you may stumble across some titles by searching for an award by name. This will give you an incomplete set of results. Here are some additional tools:
- Once you find an award-winner in the Library Catalog, select the "Awards" link below the title information on the search results page (or select the "Information & Reviews" section if you’re already looking at a title detail page). Select the award to see covers of other winners and check availability. Note: award winners are listed oldest to newest by pub year. Some popular lists with example titles to get you started:
- Anthony & Agatha Awards “A Great Reckoning” by Louise Penny
- Booker Prize “Lincoln in the Bardo” by George Saunders
- Bram Stoker Award “My Heart is a Chainsaw” by Stephen Graham Jones
- Caldecott Medal “Watercress” by Andrea Wang
- Coretta Scott King Award “Before the Ever After” by Jacqueline Woodson
- Edgar Award “Down the River Unto the Sea” by Walter Mosley
- National Book Award “The Friend” by Sigrid Nunez
- Nebula & Hugo Awards “Network Effect” by Martha Wells
- Newbery Medal “Merci Suarez Changes Gears” by Meg Medina
- Printz Award “Monster” by Walter Dean Myers
- Pulitzer Prize “Less” by Andrew Sean Greer
- RITA Award “Falling Hard” by Lexi Ryan
- Spur Award “Killers of the Flower Moon” by David Grann
- Beyond the catalog, try NoveList Plus or NoveList K-8 Plus.
- If you know the title of the award, try searching for it. The list name will pop up if available.
- Select "Award Winners" from the "Browse by" menu and choose an award. Choose the award you wish, then select a title from the list. If the library owns it, a “View copies available” or “Place Hold” button will display about midway down the title detail page. eBook and eAudiobook copies may be found by searching the Libby app, or the FVRL OverDrive website directly.
- To view all lists (you can refine by age and/or fiction/nonfiction) go to the Awards results page in NoveList Plus or the Awards results page in NoveList K-8 Plus.
- Find printer-friendly PDF lists of Caldecott award winners on the /grow-reader page and Newbery Medal winners on the /kids page and of our website.
