Cold Weather Shelters

Clark County

Winter emergency shelters for people experiencing homelessness are open in Clark County. To access the shelters, call the Council for the Homeless Housing Hotline at 360-695-9677, from 9 am–8 pm Monday–Friday and 11 am–5 pm weekends and holidays.

Overnight

  • A walk-in shelter at Living Hope Church, 2711 NE Andresen Road, Vancouver. This shelter is open from 7 pm–7 am through Tuesday, January 16. Call 360-695-9677 after that date for housing options.
  • The Washougal Severe Weather Shelter (Refuel Washougal) is open from 6 pm–7 am at the Washougal Community Center: 1681 C Street, Washougal; 360-835-2662. No referral is needed. Through Tuesday, January 16Call 360-695-9677 after that date for housing options.

Daytime

  • River City Church, 2400 Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver. Hot coffee, snacks, and places to charge devices. Open 10 am - 6 pm. Referral necessary for overnight stay. Open through Thursday, January 18, 2024.

  • Clark County Veterans Assistance Center, 1305 Columbia Street, Vancouver. Open 9am - 4pm, weather dependent. Call before to confirm if open. 360-693-7030. Open through Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Columbia Gorge

The Washington Gorge Action Programs will activate its emergency shelter warming services during severe weather. Anyone requiring shelter from life-threatening weather conditions should contact the warming shelter coordinator at 509-281-1129.

Skamania County Warming Center is at Hegewald Center in Stevenson. Open Thursday through Monday, with check in from 6 pm to 8 pm.

WAGAP does not operate an emergency warming shelter in Klickitat County but has two housing offices available Monday through Thursday where clients can arrange appropriate services for their health and safety:

  • In Bingen, call 509-493-2662 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or go to WAGAP’s main office at 115 West Steuben Street.
  • In Goldendale, call 509-773-6834 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or go to the WAGAP Housing office at 150 West Main Street.
