Fort Vancouver Regional Library District Seeking Volunteers for Pro and Con Committees on Levy Lid Lift Ballot Proposition
Fort Vancouver Regional Library District (FVRL) is seeking volunteers to serve on a pro or con committee for its upcoming levy lid lift ballot proposition on the August 5, 2025 ballot.
Following a five-month review process, the FVRL Board of Trustees voted to place a levy lid lift proposition before voters. If approved, the measure would restore the library’s levy rate to $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed value beginning in 2026.
FVRLibraries is primarily funded through property taxes, which account for 96% of its 2025 budget. The last voter-approved levy lid lift occurred in 2010.
As part of the election process, state law requires the inclusion of statements both in support (pro) of and in opposition (con) to the measure in the Voters’ Pamphlet. FVRLibraries is seeking volunteers to serve on pro and con committees to prepare these statements.
Per Washington State RCW 29A.32.280, each committee shall have no more than three members.
