FVRLibraries is honoring select Heritage Months and Observances in 2025 with a selection of books and other resources presented on our website. These recognitions are an opportunity for all members of the community to learn more about the traditions, people, history, and current experiences of ethnic and marginalized groups while we celebrate their achievements and contributions to our world.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Legacy

The third Monday in January is a federal holiday to honor the life of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It is also designated as a National Day of Service, encouraging Americans to volunteer in their communities to further Dr. King’s legacy of service.
