Yale Valley Library District

Yale Valley Library District (YVLD) is a partial-county, rural library district, created by a vote of the citizens of the Yale precinct of Cowlitz County in May 2003. It is governed by a board of trustees that meets six times a year.

YVLD contracts with Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries for services, which include the following:

  • A Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries library card
  • Access to the library catalog from home or work
  • Use of Yale Valley Community Library or any of FVRL's 14 other locations, including libraries in Woodland and La Center.
  • Toll-free phone calls to FVRL's Telephone Information Services: 1-800-921-6211
  • Assistance available at your convenience via web form. See our Contact Us page.

History

2021: The new Yale Valley Community Library opened in July.

2018: Ground was broken for a new, permanent library building. Learn more about the building project.

2012: Weekly, limited library services at Yale Library Express, located at Yale Elementary School, were established in August.

2003: In May, citizens in the Yale precinct of Cowlitz County successfully voted to form a partial-county, rural library district. Yale Valley Library District contracts with Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries for services, which included bookmobile visits until the Clark County bookmobile was retired in June 2012.

Board of Trustees members and meetings

The YVLD board is composed of five, five-year positions. Current members are:

Members meet six times a year. An agenda is posted here prior to each meeting.
